The Project
Our project was realized aiming at the potential creation of an application able to involve students in an active and fun way while learning about art and instill the importance of the preservation of art that not always is inside the walls of a museum but can be all over the walls of a city. Therefore we designed the application Treasures of Dozza for the open air museum of Dozza in Emilia-Romagna, Italy.
The application is intended to be used by school children during school trips to Dozza, in collaboration with the foundation Dozza Città d’Arte which manages the Museo del Muro Dipinto and often guides schools through the artworks all over the town. The app is designed to be used on tablets provided by the foundation to the schools for the duration of the visit. The application consists in providing little games to children to have them go around the town and search for the mural that appears on the tablet. The activities are based on the idea of being able to differentiate the real art work that they have in front of them from the AI generated images that appear in the interface. The students are guided in the application by the intelligent assistant Tomaso the Dragon who gives instructions for the activities and information about the artworks and the town’s cultural heritage.
The aim of our application is to foster in younger generations a sense of care for cultural heritage, especially urban art and realities like Dozza's, while also raising awareness about the growing presence of AI-generated content. In a world where distinguishing truth from artificial representation is becoming increasingly more difficult, we expect to develop in children the ability to think critically about their reality and understand the importance of the past to be able to build the future.

Prototyping
The Team developed a Twine prototype to experience the interaction with the intelligent assistant in the application and allowing to test the four different types of activities ideated. The proper user interface was designed using Figma but anticipated by the study of colors and fonts and the logo generation phase.
